There is an old album written by Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks.  It is called the 1000 year old man.  It is extremely funny, and we have heard it several times.  We quote some of the lines still  Carl Reiner interviews Mel (the 1000 year old man) on this very subject!  Mel's answer is "Saran Wrap".  It was the first thing that came  to my mind when I saw your question...I will think about it, and comment back.  A

Most fascinating?  I've always been fascinated by fuel/oil use....as in, who was the first person to think "you know, I bet I could use these old dinosaur leftovers to heat my house.

Biggest marvel?  We've visited the moon, have gone deep into sea, have created technology to connect the whole world.....yet we can't, as a civilization, keep a public restroom clean.

I think space travel.  It has led to so many other amazing discoveries and advancements.

Beer.  

Thomas - Well, the processor is involved is so many electronics that it needs to be right up there. Someday, I think it will run everything we use, and it already thinks for us.

I think Going to the moon is the most amazing thing.

My three top invetions were: (1) blowdryer for hair; (2) dishwasher; (3) pantyhose. (That gives you a good idea of my generation, as I grew up without all three.)

Good morning Thomas. Two answers come to mind. The wheel and fire.

 Good morning Thomas. The lightbulb. The lightbulb spurred the invention of radio and from there everything took off.

I like any reflection of art and technologies. But probably technologies are more important since even I learned to function without microwave, I like the rest of staff that makes our lives comfortable. 

Fire

I can't just name one as one leads to another, and another....

I like the answers by Praful Thakkar and Ronald Gombach.  Communication and language really make everything possible.

 If we could not communicate, we would have no Internet, no electricity, no wheel, no pc, no airplane, no music, no medicine and no freedom. 

Discovery-my purpose in life.

The automobile has been a wonderful invention that enables me to do so much more and see much more than I would otherwise.

Medical transplants , second would be connecting the world with the Internet.

Freedom is hard to beat.

Money

Quantum mechanics theory - and more recently the experiment that proved - that matter can actually be in two places at the same time, and that just observing a thing can actually change the reality of whatever you are observing.

Thomas, how do you beat the wheel? I mean everything revolves around it. Yes, that was bad.

Oh gosh this is tough.

Internet!  Need I say more?

The Internet is certainly pretty amazing, and it is changing the world in ways that no one imagined.

Religion, Isn't it amazing how many there are and how every one them has the right answers.

The wheel lives on as crucial and necessary...think about it

The entry into space exploration as it has given us our electrical gadgets and some medical cures.

I dont know about the "most" or "biggest", but I am very impressed with my electronics equipment, computers, smart phones, gps's, ultrasound tree measuring equip and even a few fancy lasers.

by far the Internet.... how could we survive without technology....

the personal computer...

The airplane - weighs a gizillion pounds with the incorrect luggage & can fly like a bird. I always think they are amazing. We are lucky.

The horseless carriage/automobile. Where would we be without it?
