I would do what you did. That's a shame. Don't send that agent any further referrals.

"You'e fired?" Honestly though, there is nothing to say...you certainly won't make that mistake again. You may feel like saying something, but it sounds like the agent is a bit less than on top of things. Move on. Enjoy your commission!

Ahhhh, I was going to ask how you knew they didn't follow up. Now I know. Why would they be perturbed that you took them back? They got what they wanted, a home!

I would ask them if something was wrong since I noticed they had not contacted the customer. Their answer would determine my action. Which would probably be call the customer and apologize for the delay and ask how we can take care of things today.

I generally ask the agent when they plan to contact the client and then tell the client when the agent plans to contact them. Then I follow up with the client to get their impression of the agent and see if they think it's a match. If the agent didn't call, I'd move on.
I'd have a lot to say to an agent who failed to call a referral, but there's really no point since they'd never get a referral from me again.

Whenever I make a referral, I ask that the buyer or seller also follow up as soon as they have made contact. An agent only gets one chance with me. Glad you were able to take them back and sell them a house!

That happens often. If you look at AR referrals for California. You can tell many agents are not excited about the price range. They took the referral but probably does little.
On referrals if you can not get hold of the customer in a day or so. Bye bye...
They disappear.

Take it back.
Explorre if agent is in some difficult time.
Wait for this agent to express, "I need more business!"
A teaching moment.

First try to get the prospective client back before contacting another agent.
Not sure I would say anytbng to the first agent, but not surely would not be sending them anything again.

You really fell down on the job and I stepped up to treat the clients the way any good agent would have. No more referrals coming to you from me.

Richard - I wouldn't think very highly of them, and they certainly wouldn't get any more of my referrals.
I would send my referral to a different agent.

Gifts like referrals are only given to those who use them and use them well.

I would do what you did. Actions speak louder than words. Never refer again.
5,585,039
I think you were very kind to that person.... I would have "lost it"...but then, I'm not the most patient person.... if I gave a referral, and the recipient "forgot" to contact the person, I'd snap.... that would NEVER happen..."fear" is a great motivator!! unfortunately...

I too would say nothing but they would be off my list for ever sending a referral again!

Good job. Some agents just shouldn't be in the business. Referrals should be responded to within 2 hours with at least a phone call. At least that is my rule. Taking the referral back was the correct action.

I was not well and could not show a home. I gave the lead to an agent. The agent never called the person.
