Jack Gerbehy Excellent question!
I priced it six years ago and just priced it out a few weeks back and its no better than using your local insurance rep.
BTW, this Obamacare is a disaster.
My monthly insurance rate went up $297 per month for my family of five. I have a $9,500 per year deductable and $125 co pay per visit.....I pay more for health insurance per month than most people pay for their mortgage. $1,288.67 PER MONTH -- I shopped this quote for months.
Mostly because of my income level. The more you make, the more you pay nowdays!

Glad you brought this up. I'm going to check and see if we can get a better deal. Insurance is killing us!

No idea... I'm old enough to be on Medicare with a supplemental plan.

I need to double check, just in case that this may be a better option for me. Thanks for sharing!

This would be an area where NAR could actually do something for its members as it is absolutely brutal as a self employed real estate agent trying to find affordable health care on your own. It is brutal out there trying to find any affordable health insurance because of Obama (Doesn't) Care!

Jack Gerbehy I do pay a lot! I mean a lot for medical insurance, billed monthly - with reasonable co-pay, I'd say.

I checked earlier this year and didn't purchase. Too expensive for our family.

I don't have medical insurance through NAR. My insurance is through Humana.

I had insurance with our State Association several years aga nd it was much the same as an independent carrier.

I'm so glad to see this, I wondered if we could get health insurance through NAR.

NAR benefits tend to be more expensive and have less coverage than the private sector. I went with Anthem Blue Cross and saved over NAR.

medical insurance is so outrageous.... thank God for Medicare.... you'll love it when you hit 65...
my last health insurance premium was $1,700+/month for the best blue cross blue shield policy with the smallest deductible....and I used it once for a shoulder surgery...one night in the hospital!!
but you can't be without it....as I said, Medicare is a bonus....$100/month and the supplemental for blue cross is $550/quarter.... 100% coverage...

Jack,
My question would be how much NAR is making by providing this to its members...and who is the company that is behind them? A

Best to discuss options with an expert in the insurance field. It's confusing to say the least. I have not contacted NAR regarding medical coverage.

I have never used NAR medical benefits. I would shop elsewhere as well.

Have not tried it, but to those who need the discount of a group plan and have no other source, it may be an opportunity.

No, and I wouldn't get it throught them either. If you ever get out of real estate and are no longer a member of NAR, what happens to your discount?
