I like several but always get a lot of laughs out of Christmas Vacation.

I think mine will always be The Santa Claus-all three of them.

The new #1 since it's release, is absolutely Elf with Will Ferrell. It still makes me chuckle ever year. 

However, many have mentioned many of my other favorites, It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Holiday, The Last Holiday (too), Home Alone 1, The Santa Clause 1.

I grew up with all the clay-mation cartoons as a kid in the 1970's, I'd have to say The Year Without a Santa Claus, has been at the top of my list too, very simply because those songs get stuck in my head every Season: Heat Miser & Snow Miser. 

At the risk of my wife possibly reading this I am going to have to say "It's a wonderful life"

The last few years, we've enjoyed "Christmas with the Kranks" with Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis, or "The Holiday" with Jude Law and Cameron Diaz...

Actually it's a Thanksgiving-theme movie -- Home For The Holidays -- a dysfunctional comedy-drama from the 1990s.

Yes to this and all the versions. Very powerful story of redemption of which motivated me to write the sequel called The Epilogue of Ebenezer Scrooge

Hate to sound like a Scrooge, but I'm not into holiday movies and find Christmas ones especially saccharin.

Good morning again Lise.  I'm with you on this one.  It has already been on the tube and again I watched it.

Hi Lise for a classic I will vote with your choice. That movie made a huge impression on me when I was a kid (and I did NOT see it in the theatre first release!)

In modern times I vote for The Ref, twisted it may be, hilarious it is and the casting was stellar.

Lots of great movies.  I prefer not to rank or play favourites.  Otherwise, it could become an obligation to see a bunch of them every year.

I love all the Hallmark Christmas season movies.  I think my favorite might be "The Christmas Card".  

I like the old claymation movies the best...Rudolph the red nosed reindeer is probably my favorite

I have 3 favorites for the holidays, the originals of It's A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart, March Of The Wooden Shoulders and Mirecale On 34th Street.

Lise Howe You have a good favorite. "It's a Wonderful Life" is still way up there.

I do not have a favorite Christmas movie. I would rather watch new movies than old ones.

I love all the holiday movies.

"A Christmas Story" and "The Hebrew Hammer"

A Wonderful Life is a classic we try to watch every year. Of course Charlie Brown Christmas and the Grinch (the cartoon) are up there too.

I flashback to my childhood. I like the cartoons like Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. 

I love everyone's contributions, so hard to choose one! We always watch The Princess Bride during the holidays, not because it's a holiday movie, but because we first watched it as a family during the holidays, so now all 8 of my brothers/sisters plus our kids watch it around the same time from all the corners of the world.

Lise - A couple of my favorites are "It's a Wonderful Life", "Elf", and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation". I have a lot of favorite Holiday movies.

I like the Polar Express and I'm always happy with classics, like Holiday Inn.

I favorite is the black and white It is a Wonderful Life!  That is a wonderful christmas movie.  My family always watches the movie on Christmas Eve.  My second favorite Holiday Movie is Donovan's Reef with John Wayne!  This movie is a hoot!

Oh how I hate to admit this, but it is, what it is.... I don't watch any of them.... 

Elf is by far my favorite Christmas movie of all time!  

For me it is so hard to pick, we start watching Christmas movies right after Thanksgiving. But if I could only watch one, then it would be a toss up between A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation. Both have great comedy and relate-able story lines. Those are two movies we watch over and over in December at my house. My girls' favorite is Polar Express, and to me that is a great movie especially for a Mom of an 8 and 9 year old who are slowly starting to outgrow the magic of Christmas and it's secrets.
