Elective ones: 100% useful (because I only pick ones I want to learn from!)

I just took tons of different CE classes for my license renewal. It was boring, time consuming and nothing I did not know. 

I would say even less than yours John Meussner   Ours is an embarrassment!  The one mandatory course that we must take every 2 years, and is supposedly an "update" course . . .  hasn't ever been updated!!  But yet we are mandated to take it. 

John since I am an educator I find all of it very helpful. Of course I'm a kick ass teacher and the whole class gets involved.

I don't use a percentage. I sign up for classes all year long that deal with what I want to learn.

We have a few mandatory courses in my state, but the rest of our required continuing ed classes are left up to us to select. We just need to have 24 hours in a three year licensing period. That's not a lot. I always get a lot more hours in than that. I find a lot of the course selections presented in my area very interesting and timely.

John - Unfortunately, I would have to agree with you. I wish the CE classes were more useful and informative, and based more on real world experience.

All of it, why take classes that will not be useful to your business.

I just took a class on Marijuana and Colorado real estate.  That class rocked.  The 4 hour mandatory course is very good because we learn about all the contract changes.  I would say about 75% of the classes I take are very helpful.

John -  the online courses I take for renewal are typically very dry and serve a purpose of allowing me to get them out of the way.   I've attended some non-credit courses that are interesting and gave me some ideas although none quickly come to mind.

Good question.  In the days of Short Sales there was usually a gem or two to be found in each Short Sale CE class.

I choose the courses that are useful. This is how I got some of my designations.

It varies.  Some classes are great others are not.

Legal update 100%.  Our real estate law is always changing.

Think 10 % is a bit light for helpful, but over 20% May be

to heavy!

Since I do a lot of management, almost none is relevant.

 Good Wednesday morning John. A lot of the CEs that I take I like refresher courses. I can whip to them fairly quickly.

John Meussner we keep learning through different channels - special training on special topics at office, at ActiveRain.

However I don't recollect learning something new from CE classes.

Most were laws, ethics.

All are useful all are something we have studied before. Reviewing all topics.

Almost none of it.

I get something out of even the mandatory classes. Overall, I find CE a good use of time.

15-20%! Some topics peek my interest and even if I pick up one or two tools; I rule the course a success as long as I get CE credits also...
