I have a pretty good database, and eventually will work out a plan for a percentage of business that will continue.  Of course I will keep my license active.   Investments made properly will provide a good living.

Real estate is my lifestyle, so I don't plan on "exiting" it.

I own my boutique brokerage which includes commercial and residential. I have trained an excellent broker associate who is younger than me so I hope to slowly coast out and let her carry more and more of the business.

I have always invested in rental real estate.  I like to buy, not sell. 

I am not ready to retire but starting planning for retirement about 30 years ago. Everything is in order but I will continue as long as I am enjoying what I am doing.

My exit strategy is, someday I will die.  When I do I will quit working real estate. Larry will step into Broker position if I go first and I have two agents who I am grooming to take over.

I have a long time before retirement, but I have 401K savings and other savings that I started in my late 20's.  If I get married, may rent out my place, too...and will have a very nice asset based on where I live.

Have enough passive income to not work now. Have a plan to sell the business in 5 years.

Val - I do have plans to purchase more rental properties, and possibly getting my brokers license. However, I hope to be helping people buy, sell, and invest in real estate until the day I die. I don't really want an exit plan.

I am working hard at training a staff of people who can take over this ship someday soon.

I think the exit is through the revolving door next to the cosmetics counter.   Housewares in the basement, fine jewelry in the corner, lingerie on the third floor.  

My best answer is - that's what this month is for determining.  I wrote a blog post yesterday that explains why.

As I did retire at 55 it was becoming a boring life.

My Father always told me it wouldn't last and I would exit out working somewhere!

Why would I want to retire form this?

I always hear about people taking retirement, but don't see myself completely retiring.  We have several investment properties and are still continueing to purchase for rental income, we also have stock portfolio's.  The rental income will be enough to keep us sustained, as long as we don't have a down market or too many repairs.  Still working on minimizing some outstanding debt but mostly have everything paid.

Sell out and work on other interests.

I do not have my own team, so I can not sell my business(yet?). But I'm very happy with a first choice: investment. 

I plan to ease out of the business over the next couple of years so I can do more traveling.

I enjoy work and may be happy to keep at it until I die. But in my other job as a financial and business consultant I counsel clients to have an good financial plan. Mine includes my second business (consulting), a diversified portfolio of stocks and some real estate, and an "emergency fund" of easily-liquidated assets to carry over 6 months.
