Yes, but they must be official members of our association and mls. The top inspectors in our area all do have supra keys at this point in time (just like the appraisers).

Yes, but few seem to have one. They must belong to the MLS association.

If the inspectors become a member of the local MLS, then they have access to the same boxes we have.

Yes, they have to register and pay for them and maybe even need to be affiliate members.

They can if they pay dues to our local association.

Well in my small area, we know the home inspectors. Although I'm there to let the inspector in. We don't generally stick around for the home inspections due to the liability that an agent can take on.

I do not know the answer for our area. I would have to check on the requirements.

Debbie, the answer is no. Like other agents we have been asking for a switch to SentriLock which allows for a limited entry with a one time keypad entry code. Right now we have Supra.

Debbie,
In my Houston market they are because we have state licenses for inspectors. They have to be fingerprinted and have back ground checks just like agents.
Since Colorado does not license inspectors and there are no background checks or fingerprints, they can’t have keys unless they hold an RE license.

Here in Northern Virginia, they can join as an Associate member and use their Sentrilock card, though it seems most don't.
150,366
Yes, they all have them here. I haven't had to attend a walk-through for some time now.
4,144,773
We have several who have key cards but we are still required to be at home inspections...

"Allowed"? Good question -- they would have to be a member of the local association and pay for access.
628,275
Yes, if they register with the board of realtors. Ours need a CBS code from the listing agent for access, so they can't just use them on all lockboxes, they need permission and a code

Good morning Debbie. I have never seen a home inspector be allow to us a lockbox. They must me accompanied.

Debbie Reynolds not in our area.
I wonder why should they have the access to homes?
It's agent's responsibility to give them access.
1,465,832
Yes, they can register as an affiliate and get them. Most don't. It's not worth the steep fees our board charges, especially when most realtors meet them at the property anyways.

I give contractors codes or 1 day codes for Sentrilocks in both California and Hawaii. Will have to double check on your question, though. Don't think so and that would be disturbing. For one, home inspectors are not state licensed in California.
5,645,888
We have only a few electronic lockboxes, but our inspectors do get the entry information.

Good question. I dont know if they are "allowed" or not, just that i dont know any that do. For our local MLS, need to be a licensed agent to have key safe which might explain why I have not seen a home inspector yet with one. Wish they did, could make my life a lot easier! I do know of one termite inspector that has her key, great not having to schedule that inspection on top of all the others.
