If your post is public, then anyone can see it.
If you share a post that is member's only, then when they clicked on the post, they would not have access to that piece of content, unless they were to log in to ActiveRain.

Hi Jack,
As a "Rainer", it is my understanding non-members cannot see your posts, regardless of where they are shared. If you become a "Rainmaker", you would need to posts "Members Only" to keep the general public from seeing the posts.
If you do want the general public to see your posts, you could upgrade to "Rainmaker"... or the person referred back (by link) to your AR post would need to become a member.
Just my understanding.... perhaps an Ambassador will pipe in here soon.

Bob Stewart has given you the answer here. Which is good, because I didn't know this either.

Great question! Never thought of that one. I'm in agreement with Carol Williams that they would most likely not be able to.

Good question, Jack -- I would think not but don't know for sure. I see from your profile you are not a RainMaker -- have you tried?

I would not post anything online that I do not want others to see. You never know.

Good morning Jack. If you post anything as public, yes it can be seen by anyone.

Only if they are public posts. If not, they can see the title but then when they access the link they will not be able to see it.

It depends what you are sharing. They can only see "public" articles, not "members only." If you are not a rainmaker (i.e. paying member) then no, they can't see your blog posts...but, they can see if you share other people's articles that are public.
I hope that made sense.

No, the link takes them to the join page whenever they click on the link to any members only pages.

Jack Gerbehy good question for sure.
Thinking logically, you are just posting a link on other social media platform so if they click on it, they can see it.
Bob Stewart - not sure if this is something ever thought of?

Great question Jack Gerbehy I am working on my blog and will become a "Rainmaker" very soon. Don't want a blank blog... good luck!
