I pick up the company check at the closing and turn it into the company accounting department. They scan it in to VA and the money is direct deposited into my bank account within 24-48 hours.

Richard,
Depends on the state and the protocol of each company, some do it the way Debbie Reynolds said, and some do it as Candice A. Donofrio mentioned. In Northern Cal that is how it was done, It made it better for the agents if the broker authorized it that way. They felt they could get paid sooner. A

The title company issues checks at closing, and the agent turns it into the office with all the paperwork. The file is reviewed to make sure it is complete and the check is given to the agent. Usually within 15 minutes.

In NC, I pick up a check from the closing attorney as soon as the property is recorded (typically a few hours after settlement). I get a direct deposit to my bank account from my company within 24 hours of bringing in the check.
In SC, so long as all funds needed for closing are in the attorney's bank account at time of settlement, I get my check at the closing table. Then it's the same procedure at my company.
In both states, checks are written to my company, so I have no choice but to get paid by them.

The title company makes checks out to the broker, and mails them to office. That happens after deed is recorded. Office processes them, then sends checks to agents. it can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks before agents get paid after settlement. if settlement is on friday afternoon, deed won't get recorded until Monday. Check arrives at office Tues or Wed. So 4-5 days can go by after settlement before brokers recieve checks at office.

At our office agents get their check cut separately from the brokers out of escrow. Our broker sends written authorization to the closing agent as long as the file is in order. Otherwise, agents bring the check to the broker and a check is cut usually within 24 hours.

In Virginia, we don't get paid until the deed has been recorded. In Florida we walked away from closing with the check and then our broker wrote the check to us with our portion.

Good morning Richard,
Always at the closing table, I am the Broker/Owner. The little pleasures of life

Richard - My broker has the commission check split, so the title company issues payment directly to me. This happens the same day the home closes/funds.

Richard,
In Colorado and Texas we are generally table funded. If it is my broker associate I am ready to trade my company check for her split when she hands me the title company check.

Richard L. McKinney P.A. I get paid fairly quickly from my broker - few days after closing once I submit much required paperwork!

Our commission checks are sent from the escrow company to the broker and those are typically delivered the same or next day. The broker completes a commission disbursement prepared by the escrow company. Once the file has been checked for completeness, we receive our checks.

What does the demand for commission say? This is CA.
Go to broker with a cheque then when you are done with your paperwork meeting compliance you get your cheque. Anyone on top needs to be approved by the broker.
