I had to Google this to even know what you were referring to. I don't watch or read any regular news. Staying up in a down world.  I'd take the job as the challenge you infer. Schweppes didn't build a bomb, the terrorists did. If the public is that fickle (aka. stupid) to hurt Schweppes rather than rally behind them; I'd love to take on that underdog story; what a victory I'd have. I'd be an HBO movie of the month and oh man, the book tour!

I used to work at Mott's which was part of Cadbury Schweppes.  I don't think I'd like to be a CEO of any large company. Too much stress.

Didn't realize the can was Schwepps.  I thought it was some Miller beer can.  I don't think anyone cares about the can that was used.  I'm still not sold on this alone being what took down the plane.

It's hard enough to be CEO of my own business... not looking to borrow trouble. Besides, I left the corporate world in 1989--18 years was enough.

Many brands have challenges thrust upon them and how they handle it can make or create further damage. I remember Tylenol 30+ years ago as an example and Lexus 2 years ago.

I love to be.  They have a product that tastes wonderful.  As for the bomb, it could just as easily have been a can of Coke or Seagrams.
