ask yourself why you got into it. itemize those reasons on a list, use a 8 x 11 paper. then write down your goals (as you see them now) tape this list with reasons onto you mirror in your bathroom. leave room to write. leave a pen on the counter under the mirror. every morning and every evening ask yourself about those goals and reasons. are they the same now? what did you do to achieve those today? good luck and have fun

Find a seasoned, honest, intelligent agent to help show you the ropes. Offer to be a buyers agent while you learn. See if the brokerage provides free training or shadow an agent. Best way to learn is by doing but it is hard to do when you dont know what to do. Good luck, keep a positive attitude and you will do great.

Align yourself with good positive and productive agents. Stay focused on what you are interested in doing(find a niche market). Don't try to be a one stop shop.

In the immortal words of John Belushi in Animal House, "Start drinking heavily." Kidding, but keep your sense of humor, align with the smartest pros you can, learn your area inside out and commit the contracts and forms to memory. Also, read books on real estate law in your state and review your state's statutes.

Allign yourself with a Brokerage thats well known in your area and offers its Agents training. The brokerage that im lined up with assigns a mentor to every newly licensed Agent for the first year and The new Agent accompanies the mentor on listing appointments, open houses etc.. You can also go into You Tube and look up "Borino" hes a real estate trainer and has lots of informative videos. I never bought any of his courses (although I am considering it) but I did find his videos to be very informative.

RUN! Run as fast as you can!
Welcome aboard the most dynamic and agile and creative business enterprise on the planet. The outcome will be EXACTLY what you make it. But YOU must MAKE it. There are no free rides.
Now, what you do is meet up with the broker at Indy Home Shop and say, "Let's get started on implementing my business plan as you agreed to do."
Then follow the directions provided.
As you know, a real estate agent is a small business owner. Like any small business owner, you would have created a business plan before you plunked down your dollars to go that real estate school.
Now is the time to bring it into reality.
Back to the opening line. It is the lion and gazelle story. Keep running.

Treat it like a business and not a job.
Have a business plan in place (I would start on 1/1/16)
Prospect every day.

Congratulations Brooklynn!
I'd say the first steps would be to get familiar with your area, find your business focus, make a business plan, find a mentor and check out the October contest about "best advice for a newbie." Lots of good info there.
And of course, ask your questions... which you obviously have down!

Be consistent with marketing. Partner with an experienced agent. Go visit as many homes as possible in your area, and carry a list of those homes with you. Always listen to your clients wants and needs.

Choose a brokerage that has good training, shadow a top agent and be their free assistant to learn the ropes, and work your sphere of influence to get your first deals.

Don't spend a lot of money. People will be trying to sell you every bit of new technology they can. Take your time, research websites companies, send out announcements to everyone you know that you are now licensed. research neighborhoods to farm. just don't try to rush to do it all.

Best advice is to no matter how many calls you get offering leads, and how good it sounds dont buy leads ever. It will be a big waste of money. Second advice would be to start learning and reading as much as you can on marketing, social media etc. from free sources like entrepreneur.com
Also follow some sales people on Facebook as you can learn a lot from their posts.
