If I delete ActiveRain groups where I am a member, does it have any effect on my posts or anything else in the Rain?

Your posts are not affected at all if you are just deleting the groups. They will still be posted on the blog roll and that is what matters. If you delete a post that is 6 months old or more, you will retain the points too.
