I love a good fruitcake and the fact that yours are home made makes the difference. I remember the days when my grandmother placed a rum soaked cloth on top of her cake in the sealed container.

Fan here!  Family tradition has always been to assemble them the day after Thanksgiving, then soak them in rum and put them in the attic (where it was cold) until closer to Christmas. Yours sound delish!

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I like fruitcake. I stopped making them years ago when I realized I was in a small minority, and had to eat most of them myself.

I am not a fan.  When we first moved to the US, people brought fruitcakes for gifts that they had made for us.  It was a wonderful gesture, and my parents and I did not care for it.  I like fruit breads, like date nut bread, banana bread, etc.  

I am still open, as I did not taste yours, for all I know it is outstanding!

I'm not a fruitcake fan. I never have been. Yours sounds wonderful and I would certainly give it a try. Maybe it would change my mind.

My extended family and friends beg me to keep sending them loaves of my Bourbon Pecan Cake each year. I'm not a regular fruitcake fan but this one wins praise from everyone. (I have to get it made by mid October to allow enough sitting time.)

The old fashioned family recipes are the best and I can enjoy a piece or two of them but not the whole cake. They are just too rich.
