Bold decorating ideas are fine unless you plan to sell the home.

I personally liked alot of the ideas but did not like the terrariums over the chair ideas. But the others were interesting. Barn Door, new fixtures, bold colors, and art are all good ideas

Lina,

I did not like the painted ceiling, that was over the top, and I agree with Roy Kelley , people just don't want over the top.  A

Boldly painted front doors work here in the tropics. Unconventional art - if removable - is great and won't interfere with a future sale.

Some of these would be nice to live with but probably not a good idea for selling a home.

It isn't my style but am currently doing a semi-custom home that will have some of these doors which I think is fine. I think it will go nicely with the buyer's decor.

these were really cool. I think it is your personal space and you should love it. If you are not selling decorate and go crazy:) what is the point of owning something you aren't enjoying.

Sliding barn doors are hot right now in Oklahoma City. I am seeing more accent walls with wallpaper also and taking a bit of a liking to them if done well.

Yes.  The flipper I represent uses fancy furniture and just installed their first (and probably last) sliding barn door.  Looks great, but a 2 day job to install!  That house hasn't gone on the market yet, so no idea how it will be seen yet.  The fancy fixtures are part of a fancy bathroom or kitchen and have been very well received.
