My son the attorney has many clients that sell Marijuana and he is representing them in commercial arenas, rentals and legal sales and permits. I don't know how you can claim non-involvement as the owner of the property. That defense doesnt work too well in todays society. Yes I would do business with them and it is very lucrative for all concerned. When the Sheriff shows up with a warrant, I do hope your attorney is on top of it or you will be in it for sure. My son has been there and done that and right now...its a ongoing high stakes battle with many heads. The future? This is coming. Between now and then...Risky and controversial

As a property owner, I would have no problem leasing my property to a legal dispensary.  Our local Hershey's Chocolate Factory closed awhile back and the new owners of the property are 1 of 5 approved suppliers in the country and they employ 100 people and are  growing 25 different strains in the 168,000 square-foot facility.  It was put to a vote in the community as to whether this is a positive step forward and the results were quite overwhelmingly in favour:

John,

Due to its’ value and the need for grow lamps, constant humidity, etc. I think it will always be limited to being grown indoors.

Denver has witnessed an explosion in demand for industrial space to grow marijuana.

Just a reminder that growing, selling, etc. is still illegal at the federal level. Properties are subject to being confiscated by federal authorities and sold.

Property owners need to understand they are “in harms way” should the federal government decide to come after them.

Until there is a change at the federal level, anyone involved in the marijuana industry is putting themselves and their property at risk.

It is now legal in DC, and this old hippie hasn't had a legal puff yet.  I don't think it makes the least bit of difference.

I have done some research on this now that marijuania is legal in Colorado. There are some issues that landlords need to be aware of. Call or email me.

Legalizing marijuana will lead us down a path in which there is no return.  Drug use will increase and the taboo will diminish.  People compare it to alcohol and that is a good comparison.  Alcohol brings many problems including alcoholism.  It needed to be legalized because people were going to use it anyway and they were drinking things that were far too dangerous for public consumption.  The black market mandated that if needed to be legalized.  Marijuana is in the same boat and it being legalized is inevitable.  That doesn't mean that the results will be a good thing.

I would have no problem leasing to a legal dispensary. I would do my due diligence on the owners and business history (if any), just as I would for any commercial lease.
