Mine was similar to Bob Crane.  I grew up on a ranch -- so feeding cows and chickens, working in the hayfield and being a cowboy.  If I remember correctly we were rounding up cattle by the age of 6.

Gluing bows and feathers and other dumb stuff onto greeting cards at a Hallmark Card factroy in Topeka, Kansas.  

I worked at Sears in the young boys department. Toughskins jeans. 

I cut grass and shoveled snow until I was old enough to get a "real" job which was a bag boy in a grocery store. $1.65 p/h plus tips!

In high school I was often pulled out of class to fix the principal's computer or to program cash registers.  First paying job was working at an antique store doing computer work, cleaning, invoicing and assorted other odds and ends.

Painting houses Richie. It was for a guy who owned a whole bunch of property the rented out and yes we used lead based paint. I guess this is even real estate related.

When I was around 10 years old, I made candles and sold them door to door in the neighborhood.

When I was 12, my uncle's wife taught me to make jewelry.  I made some necklaces and got good feedback, so I decided to sell the jewelry at local arts and crafts faires.  

My parents were nice enough to drive me to the events, help set up and manage the booth, etc. and give me a ride home.

First real job: 40 hour-punch the clock-work weeks- was a bagger & clerk for Safeway grocery store. Great training, still value it 32 years later.

As a kid I shined shoes, washed cars, and shagged balls on a golf range; but they were all cash & part time.

First job as cutting lawns in the neighborhood.

First paying job for a employer was packing bags a local grocery store.

selling xmas cards door to door. in my red arrow leaf wheelbarrow . at age 10. the cards started at 1.00 a piece... in the 60's. high end from the get go.lol

I was a cashier at a retail store in our area.

Picking berries in the fields of northwest Oregon.  My first 40 hour week job: Secretary in the sales department of a fruit warehouse in Central Washington.

First job during college was in retail and summers as a teacher's aide. First real job after graduate school was doing psychological testing. 

First job was working for my dad at a law office as receptionist/office asst over summers.  First "real" job after college was legal assistant at a law firm in DC.  First real real job after B-school as assistant brand manager (marketing/brand management).

My first real job, other than babysitting was waitressing in a local Italian restaurant.

First paying job was helping an owner clean a rental home, I got paid $10.00. Boy I thought that was great money for what I did that day.

I worked in a NAPA auto parts store ....thought I wanted to own one ....then I moved on to bigger and better things Richie Alan Naggar ....great question!

Besides mowing the lawn for my dad.  I did yard work for an elderly but financially well of woman up in the El Cerrito Hills.  Huge house and lot.  I took care of her dogs when she was traveling.  First reported job that I paid taxes and such was H&R Bloch.  I copied tax returns on an old ammonia based machine; the tax forms were on a thin tissue like paper and I matched them up to special paper and ran them through the machine; then stapled everything in the right order. 

I worked at the United Parcel Service directly after high school for over a year. Fair days pay for a fair days work at 17 years old!

Box Boy.  Best start a kid could ever get.  Teaches a child responsibility, dealing with the public and gives room for advancement.

Summer job in book store in Junior High (yes, they were still around then!).

Delivering newspapers.

My sister and I were a money making team! 8/9 yrs old we'd walk the creek & woods along the golf course and find golf balls. We'd shine them up and sell them back to the golfers for 10-25 cents. We babysat, mowed lawns, raked leaves, dog sat, pretty much anything we could to do.

11yrs old, after we'd saved enough money for a bike that we shared, we were sub-contractors for our older brother. He had a paper route, the newspaper wouldn't hire girls back then, so we delivered for him for about 1/3 of what he was getting paid. Early income inequality lesson!

First paycheck job 15, lifeguard at the local lake, $2.15/hr.

Gas station.  When there was real full service.

My first ever job was working in a bank in mid-town Manhattan as a customer service representative.  I must say, I learned a lot working there . . . and not just about banking and loans.  This is where I started learning about what other people were like.  Had some humorous moments there.  Quite interesting working in mid-town Manhattan.

Other than "self employed" baby sitting etc...waitress ....and loved the "commission" of tips !
