All the time.  I take a step back, and get away for a while, and always, always leave my cell phone behind.

If I'm in the position where I can afford a couple days to recharge, I'll sneak away to a national park - I always come back from time away in nature feeling recharged, relaxed, and ready to get back to it.

Yes, I surely have - when it happens it serves as a reminder to recharge.  I've had a few instances where I've ingnored the early signs to my own peril -then it takes l longer to peel myself off the wall.

You bet I have and several times at that. I back off and do something outside of real estate to clear the cobwebs. It may take a few weeks. Then I try to regain balance in my life and look for a new direction in the real estate business that will rekindle my interest. It works for me every time.

I believe 'burn out' happens to us all at some point.  I shut down completely for a few days.  That means no phone period.  No work environment.  Someone to take care of my emergencies should they come up during that short time.   With that I disappear to a hotel room with a book.  Enjoy a movie house.  And force myself not to feel guilty about doing so.  First few times were tough.  Now I completely enjoy myself for that brief period having seen the whole world does not collapse because I do not answer my phone.  Mark

Chris, during a really mean burn out, I did a Brian Buffini seminar.  It was my cure.

I help somebody.

Nothing keeps gratefulness alive like serving those in need, compassionately.

Eventually, I return to "I don't want to do this anymore" and realize 'this' is the conduit through which my gifts are allowed to flow. If I do not complete that for which I am called to do, "Who will?" (of course you know I'm not talking about real estate)

Sigh....then I accept you can not blame the vessel for the turbulent waters, release my burnt out thoughts to the river, the pick up my staff and continue.

Yes it can happen to all of us. It is very challenging to balance a personal life and a real estate career. Try to write down 5 things you are grateful for everyday for seven days. See if that helps. Also time block for a day of with NO REAL ESTATE.

When feeling burnt out, I take better care of myself; all those things our Moms taught us to do!  I eat better, get more sleep, visit places that nurture me like the ocean or the mountains.

Oh yes, Chris. I think this happens to all of us at some point. I take a small break, lifting weights, or go for a walk to clear the mind.
