When I joined in '07 I really had no idea what I was getting into let alone know there were other sittes.

Good morning Michael.  I was told about this site and started back in 2009.  I've got to check out other avenues but I haven't done so yet.

I did not come to ActiveRain for the blogging.  I came to AR for this - to learn from and share with those in the trenches.

A number of years ago, I stumbled across AR while doing some research on a specific topic and printed out the post.  Perhaps a year later, I again came across AR again and at that time, I looked into AR, started reading it regularly as a non-member and ultimately signed up a few months later as I determined how I could use it for my needs.

Good morning Michael. It was strongly recommended, the advice was a good move for me. I also submit blogs to a number of other sites.

I learned about it at Women's Council of realtors.  I'm glad I found it.  This is where I learned to blog.  But, my own WP site does MUCH better.

It's the most active blog. Plus, it's owned by Zillow which is where i get my leads.

SEO, at the time I joined I saw the blogs all over the Internet. Now there is much more competition.

AR is more of a cooperative community than a cutthroat competition like the other sites.

i see the ar blogs can have better seo rankings, thou trulia is good as well

I joined years ago, and have just stuck with it.  I have a blogger site, and also one on my web site, but usually do not have time for more than one blog a day. 

For real estate blogging both reaching real estate professionals and potential clients you can't beat the SEO of ActiveRain. I still use a Wordpress blog as well for my personal blog

6 years ago, I asked the broker/owner where Bill Gassett markets and was told by blogging on ActiveRain....of course, my next question was "what's blogging"....

Some agent said...you may like this and I did. I used AR to learn more about short sales and foreclosures when they first broke out around 2008-10.

When I joined activerain I do not believe there was a lot to choose from.  Having said that, this is the best choice because of the community and spirit.
