My machine is a multi-function (copier/printer/fax).  Haven't used the Fax in years.  Scanning and e-mail gives a way better quality document.

I have e-fax.  There are certain businesses and government agencies it is better to fax than e-mail.  Also it sends me a nice small but very readable PDF.  Comes in very handy when dealing with Tech Challenged.

Yes, I have a fax machine/printer/copier.

I think the fax machine is a necessity that's equivalent to having a landline phone.

Nope, I keep a virtual fax number and I get anything faxed to it in a nice PDF file in my email. Don't even have a landline to hook up a fax up to anymore.

No way. My broker fortunately has one. So, he always scans those faxes and emails me. Fortunately, I always can answer with an email. I just had to send something to IRS, and believe it or not, they do not except email, only fax or mail ( scary!).

Absolutely since fax machines are still critical for many communication needs.  Not everything can be sent or received by email, dropbox (or equivalent) or other methods for a variety of reasons.

In some cases, there is the option of courier or snail mail but that is still slower than fax machines but in some cases may be much too slow or not meet various requirements.

I loathe fax machines. Faxing is "woodburning" technology.

The quality of faxes is poor and they are often illegible, which makes them pretty useless in a real estate transaction. I wish we could persuade clients not to use them.

Yes, but it's part of a 4-in-1 machine that is printer, copier, scanner and fax. I typically "fax" a total of 2 items per year because some organization or government agency requires a fax rather than a PDF or other electorinc document attached to an e-mail.
