Wouldnt it be better for the agent to just call 911?

Ginger Harper With the death of Beverly Carter last year, every office should have a plan.

This about it. If you are a BIC..you surely do not want to have loss of life on your shoulders....if you could have prevented it..

No, I can't say thay we have a safety plan. Perhaps that would be nice.

Not really. Each agent has their own custom safety operating procedures depending on areas they serve and hours they work.

I am trying to get all of our agents to have an emergency app on their phone. It's a work in progress.

Back in my hospital days, there was "Code Grey" and "Code Silver" for bad situations. I'm at an office of one, so I AM MY SAFETY PLAN. I have no problem showing clients alone or doing open houses alone.
I have earned a self-defense martial first degree black belt and I carry multiple "tools" with me, including one in the 9mm variety (I am a licensed concealed carry holder and a NRA certified handgun instructor). I trust my instincts and I ALWAYS make sure I have an escape route or two. I also tend to be in almost constant contact with my broker.

We also have the "red file" at which point 911 gets called and most likely a bunch of agents from the office are heading that way.

We have the "red folder" which means the agent feels unsafe with client(s) and someone at the office calls 911 and if possible another agent drives to location.
