Mike, I haven't had an issue with the name of a street, but have had with the number of a home's address, as there are cultures who are very sensitive to combinations of numbers. (Not that I could ever figure it out; I'd just tell them to let me know whether the numbers worked or not.) I've also had clients who insisted the home faced in a certain direction and some who wouldn't live close to a cemetary.

Never had the street name get in the way - agree with Jenna - numbers yes, and definitely facing direction.

Good Monday morning Mike. Yes! Especially when the name of the street is Garbage Disposal Lane.

Both street names and address numbers.  Many clients won't look at houses on the street I live on because of the name.

A neighbor, when living Donner Pass / Ca bought a home sight unseen under 12 feet of snow because it was named 'Bunny Hill'.  You could not move an inch in her house that there was not something to do with a "sillyyy wrabbit".  True story.  Make it a great week.  Mark

No but I have wondered about who would buy a home on a few creepy sounding streets.

Yes, it has happened.  We have certain Streets with bad reputations, as being in a "bad" part of town.  So, even if the extension of that street is in a different section of town... I've had buyers refuse to look at homes on that street.  Also, believe it or not, I had one client who purchased a corner lot home and petitioned the county to change their address to the cross street.  They were successful in doing so and were happy to have the new street address.

no, that's never happened..... usually the planning board needs to approve the name of the street....rarely is an off the wall name acceptable....

Hasn't happened but I do have a client who lives on grassy knoll terrace. I Couldn't do that one if I were looking for a house in the area. I have had ethnic issues with certain numbers on the house though that were deal breakers and of course directions for few shui

Of course I have encountered that situation.

The buyer will deselect the house on the street with wrong name.

I don't ask them to justify the obvious for reasons of political correctness.

So we settle for the street name is TOO LONG TO WRITE.
