Usually when others slow down, i get busy because they stop generating and i increase it. A busy agent is working on pending sales getting then to close. They are ytrying to sell homes they have listed. May be trying to get buyers to purchase homes and seeking new clients, buyers and or sellers for the future. Now that is busy to me.

Most agents say they are busy if they are working with many clients and have appointments every day . The buyers may not buy but it takes time to show homes and to make appointments. I have not heard of anyone using the term for positive affirmations.

The transaction count is equal to or higher than the 2005 to 2008 years. And there are currently fewer agents.

When an agent says they are really slammed, that is what they mean.

Another interpretation is the agents are too busy working in their business that they realize there will be a price to pay for not committing sufficient time and resources working on their business.

"//giving themselves positive affirmations...."  where did that conjecture come from?

When the market was slow I was slam so I think some agents are prospecting, some are showing investors and some agents are giving themselves positive affirmations.

I think it depends.  There are an awful lot of things in the industry that can keep us extremely busy but make us no money.  Maybe they are slammed, but not with closings.

Fake it until you make it.  I look at it this way, I'm always busy.  I'm either building the fire or enjoying the heat.  Keep moving and keep positive.  No one want to hear us complain or brag.

Michael,

It is a great way to tell someone, that they don't want to talk to you or be with you.  I know many do that, and not just real estate agents.  It is the universal excuse, and a way not to hurt someone's feelings.  A

Many agents have the affliction of confusing activity with progress.  You can keep busy in a rocking chair but you won't get anywhere.  Hopefully, they are busy marketing, prospecting, and working their Sphere.

Or are they competing in the "Who's busiest" contest? It seems that there's some sort of status symbol associated with working the longest hours and being the busiest.
