I would not be so worried abt duplicate content (as it is yours).  The real issue is which one do you want google to index.  Sometimes the priority goes to the higher PR/authority site, and that may not be your own.  I had that happen w/ an article I wrote on the Patch.  One the one hand, I was mad; on the other, my content for that particular piece wasn't ranking well on it's own, so this was better.

In retrospect, I should have waited longer before posting to the patch so it had more traction on my site.

I generally post as a link to the original post on my site.  That is because my primary objective is to drive traffic to my site and have my site be the hub of my wheel.

BUT, it depends on your objective/subject matter.  If I was an social media or SEO expert, I would definitley be publishing some unique content on LI for a new audience.

And, yes I have read up on the subject and based on my reading from expert opinions, this is what is best for MY strategy.

Publish a post, but change it up a bit. For sure rewrite the headline and the first paragraph.

I just post a link either in my update area or to a group in linkedin.

Good morning John. You get much more juice when you post directly to Linkedin. It is day and night on the results when I do it that way, but I don't always have the time.
