absolutely.  I never let it happen though. And now a HUD approved attorney is MY attorney, so that works out well.

It has only been in the last year and a half that we have had a choice.  Well, that's not totally true.  If we did not use their title company they would not pay for the title work, which a Seller pays in our market.

My broker is a HUD broker in Florida and HUD will let buyer select the closing agent/title company.  However, in that case buyer will pay for title fees.

Yes, it happens a lot.  Though typically when you use their company they will pay for the title.  If you select your own, you will be responsible for the fees.

In FLORIDA local custome is the SELLER selects the title/closing company.

In your case, in FL, HUD or their assigneds will call the shots regarding title/closing.
