I prefer real estate related questions but not those that can be found in the prelicense textbooks.

It's nice to mix it up so I would have to say both.

I prefer questions because it's unlikely that I'll come back to the Q&A section again today and participating in a discussion I'm not going to follow up with feels disingenuous. There are times when a discussion OR a question is so interesting to me that I'll bookmark it for tomorrow, but I don't have the time to participate in AR discussions very much.

If I am asking the question of another professional, especially if they are known grandstanders, I want it to be as narrow and concise as possible soliciting only a binary response.
However, if I the question is presented to me, I know there is always more behind a question from a buyer or seller than the surface reveals. Before I respond I will pivot and take the 'is there more?' direction.
Be aware, when a consumer asks, 'Hows the market' they are not asking 'Hows the market? Find out if there is more.

It depends on the type of issue under consideration.

I don't have enough time to write a post with (original content) text and (public domain or copyright free) graphics, so I prefer to write questions that are thought provoking. I'll admit that I'm frustrated when I see my question become tomorrow's featured post by the Ambassador du jour, but hey - that's the new Active Rain. Get used to it. As we all saw with the recent frat party at the pool that so many old AR members "attended" to the exclusion of our newer members. But I've diverted. What was your question?

I guess it depend on the question. Sometimes the answers are more educational.
