There exists a dichotomy where I consider myself a follower/assister, whereas others tend to see me in a leadership role.  I suspect it's because I don't follow blindly or directly, I tend to suggest alternatives all the time.  I work with the pack - I don't run with the pack - I'm usually outside somewhere with a different perspective.
