I got rid of the fax I was using, had E-fax as well.  I no longer use telegraph, morse code, or other out dated means of communication :)

I haven't had a fax line in many many years.  Should someone have the need, they can fax my Toronto office and my admin staff will scan it to me immediately.   It happens maybe once a year?

I let go of my efax number years ago. Our phone service offers a split line for faxing at no extra cost so I still have my separate fax line for my home office. There are some companies (mostly lenders) and a few clients that still rely on faxing.

I have myfax.  It is only $10 per month.  We still have a few people fax instead of email.  If I am traveling then a hotel can always fax easier than sending an email.  This way I can fax it to the person who needs it.  I know there is a service through my phone that does faxes or puts it into a pdf, but I just haven't made the time to find out about it.

Ditched my efax just this week Holly.  Found it to be an un-used and unnecessary expense.  Everything is scanned and emailed these days.

Cheers!

If you must have a efax type fax line look at fax87.com. I used both in the past and the only difference was the price. 99.99% of time, I scan and email.

I still have a fax line at my office, but not at home.  Not an efax either.  If they MUST fax, they can fax to my office and I can run pick it up and scan.

Holly Weatherwax - I have a fax# from K7.net - free. The only thing I need is to send a dummy fax every two weeks to keep that number alive. However, not received a fax in years now!

The only time when I have difficulty scanning the document, I eFax it to this number and receive it as a PDF document.

It is so rare that I run into someone who wants to play fax that I have long ago dumped my fax machines and efax account.

Now if I do run into anyone who is not already able to send docs via email, I take the time to coach them on how to do so.

It is about time to get the rest of us into the current century, and a little coaching is time well spent.

I have Efax from my company for no extra charge and intend to keep it. I use it daily. If I fax a document to myself I get a perfect PDF that is not huge in size and it is very convenient. The same document scanned as a PDF is 10 times the size and takes pretty much the same steps. With this I can easily read contracts on my phone as an example.

I maintain an analog fax line and use it regularly from a receiving and sending viewpoint.  It is necessary to communicate with a variety of organizations that for various regulatory, legal or other reasons cannot send documents via email or other methods.

I, too, have an efax and keep it up because there are occasions that I need it. And then when I need it--like for government stuff--I really need it. Worth it to me for the $9.99 that I pay per month.

We have e-fax.  We have found that although some people buying here who live up north can e-mail they have a hard time downloading 13 pages and then scanning them back to us.  They are more comfortable with fax.  We can receive but we can not send.  For sending we just run down the street to the clubhouse and they do it for us, free or the office if we're near.

Unfortunately, we are a bit behind the times here in Hawaii. Fax seems to be the preferred method. People just don't like change.
