I notify all my clients in advance when I'll be away and that I'm available by email if they really, really need me. 99% of the time, they tell me have a good time and do not bother me. I check in on my business daily while on vacation for an hour or two and things always seem to go fine.

Good morning Evelyn. Both, may handle some work, but have two assistants that do a great job.

We always work..never stop and no; do not take vacations!

It depends. If I am out of the country I have a back up person, if I am on vacation in the country I work on vacation.

Both, all of my vacations involve work projects or training, and I do leave a crew at home to keep things moving along.

 Good Wednesday morning Evelyn.  I limit my work to at least an hour a day. Mainly just to put out fires.

Evelyn - If it is stuff I can do on a laptop, or phone calls I can make, I will usually work while on vacation. If showing homes is required, I would have another agent in the office take care of that for me.

I do some work while on vacation, but my office is good about covering while I'm gone. 

I will have someone available to cover for me as a backup, but I like to keep in touch with people, too - with technology these days it doesn't really impede on most vacations to return some emails or phone calls.

When we're on a 'real' vacation no I don't work.  When we're out of state visiting family yes I work.

I have effectively used associate agents to cover for me. It is good to have experienced and trusted agents who will readily accept referrals. 

Compensation agreements need to be clearly understood by all. I do not ask other agents to work for free.

all of my team members WORK WHEN THEY ARE ON VACATION.....and if there is a situation that requires a physical presence, another team member will substitute....

I'm on my last day of vacation now and will be headed home this morning.  No there is no one else and it has been a working vacation but I do enjoy it.

Both. Nowdays our cells are making us available anywhere in the world. 

We're available by phone 24/7. Even when we are away, we answer the phone.

We have always notified our clients when we leave.  When we had our real estate office, we had back up.  Now, we do check our email and our answering service forward messages in writing via email.  So we stay in touch.  A

I have a great team!  I do no work while on vacation.

I take my backup person with me.  He carries the luggage.
