Get the best training and mentoring possible. There is a big learning curve the first year.

Do open houses for everyone in your office every day of the week.

If limited to just one it would be prospect every day.

Make sure you have sufficient cash reserves on hand.

Go on broker tours study your market hand out business cards to everyone from friends and family talk to everyone about real estate ask everyone for referrals and tell them your in business to help them 

Get Pre-approvals before wasting you gas to show them house, you don't even know they can afford.  Some people just like to look at houses, some others use you to case the homes, to later return.

Be consistent and patient.

Have thick skin, not every deal will stay together. Do your best. Your name is everything and be quick no one likes waiting days for communication;) 

Run no just kidding market, follow-up and follow-up!
