Welcome Back Randy -- stuff happens, lives change, people move on, some - like you may return. Time to discover some new bright lights.

Welcome Back, many of those who left are just busy, a few died, and other got tired of the zillow year.

Trulia then Zillow bought ActiveRain and it fell into disrepair. Bob is back and Ben Kinney bought ActiveRain. Read some of the posts from Kinney.

ActiveRain has a continuing membership retention problem. Becoming inactive is a personal decision that may involve many factors that may not be apparent.
Some of us have burn out symptoms. On the other hand, there are many outstanding members who are active and willing to share their success.

There is constant turnover here - and has been since the beginning. There are more people typically absent in spring/summer when it's busy for many and/or vacations.
Some get too busy, some go on just to blog on their own site, some find there are other ways to spend their time to generate leads, some drop out of real estate.

Good morning Randy. They probably did what you did and may be back as well.

Lots of people seemed to think they "outgrew" AR and moved on. I wish a few more would move on.

I think some of the changes over the last year or so caused some members to backoff a bit.

Hi everyone and thanks for your answers to my question. I do understand that membership ebbs and flows. Heck, I got impatient and went off in a different direction, too. But I swear there is a qualitative difference in the content of this forum. I used to see quite a bit from the lending sector. I mean good stuff. changes in the laws, up-to-the minute content. Now, I see lots of silly stuff posted and reposted, present company excepted. You know what I mean, the "I just staged a home at 123 Main St. and I am proud to say that it sold in 7 days with multiple offers. When you want top dollar, hire the best - ME! There might have been postings like that in the past, but I surely remember the quality content. I do hope to see a return of intelligent discourse. I'm sure I can count on it, at least, from the familiar group who responded to my question.

Since I've been here (2008) members are always coming and going. That's the way it is. Many got busier, some just needed a break. We just keep reinventing it while keeping the core values. Welcome back!

I've found several very active on Facebook now who used to blog regularly here on AR. It will be interesting if they can be enticed back. AR seems to have a core group that is probably around 500 (if that many). Where are the other 255,000+
