I believe in breaking the rules if it's not illegal, unethical, and is done with good intentions (helping a client....perhaps by requesting a rush and offering a reason other than the real reason to increase the chances of a rush request being approved).

One rule I'll never break is when it comes to money & ethics. I have not nor will I ever have a pricetag when it comes to sacrificing my ethics.
