When referring a client to an out-of-state, or out-of-your-area Realtor®, what criteria do you use to select that agent?

Do you choose one within your company umbrella, or do you choose an agent you may have found in the search engines, or perhaps through various social media sources?

First I want to see how quick they respond to my email or phone call. Second I would conduct a phone interview and base my decision on that conversation.

I usually use AR to select an agent for a referral. I just did two, and because of AR I was able to find the right agent for the job. I felt like I really got to know the agent from blog posts. Then I made a phone call and knew I had the right one.

Just kidding, actually I seldom have the opportunity for an out of state referral, I do refer a few around Wisconsin to agents that I have worked with.
