I am actually working on starting my own non-profit this year for animals. Mostly abused animals, but also some specific things like saving the bee's (don't think a lot of people realize how much they help our food supply)

Why take the time, governement filing for 501c3 status etc? I am tired of seeing commercials that ask for money donations and then spent that money on t-shirts, pictures etc they sent you. Spent a higher percentage per dollar on animals or whatever the cause may be. 

My focus is on PEOPLE who are suffering and hurt and need but fear asking for a lifting hand.

Feeding programs for the silent hungy, pantries for the worker who just can't afford FOOD, head of households who can not catch up in past and present utilities, abuse shelters, skills training, employment.

For me, PEOPLE matter. Putting ones hand and resources to work to alieviate the suffering of another changes one in a way words can not reach, 

I volunteer time with Not for Profits . I give money to Kiva a crowd funding micro lending site because the money I give is a loan that gets paid back and I then recycle it . I donate time to Catchafire a site where not for profits are looking for volunteers to assist them with projects. These projects are short term . I am looking for mor volunteer opportunities but it's very time consuming and it's almost like another job.

Hi Gary-I like you like to give sizable amounts to shelters. These poor animals that totally depend on humans need all the help they can get. I also give to heart related and hiv research. The arts get a portion as well here in the Miami area and in the town in Mexico where I also have a home. Every little bit helps!
