My gift to them was my expertise and service. I let them know that my gift to them on closing is the promise to treat their friends and family in the exact same way! The line forms to the left . . .

I have never given a gift to sellers - only buyers.

I send them a wonderful cake from Penn Street Bakery in a personalized tin telling them it was "sweet doing business with them." People love those cakes! (I can't quite bring myself to give knives as gifts, even though I've owned a Cutco set for almost 20 years and love them.) Also I send a handwritten note to them and a certificate in their name showing my contribution on their behalf to Children's Miracle Network.

I find that it dilutes the professional aspect of our work. Whether it's on the purchase side or selling I haven't seen it's benefit.

Looks like sellers get the cash in their account so no need to worry about giving any other gift!
Thanks for your responses.

A big check at closing is the most important thing that they need, other than that keeping in tough is the next important thing you can do for them.

I like the gift idea and I know it means a lot to your buyers and sellers. Even as a loan officer, I like to give a small gift to my clients. Today, I am bringing one of my clients a dozen homemade cookies. Nothing big, but just a small gesture to let them know I am here for them.
