What?  We get points?  Kidding :)

ActiveRain has lost the energy of the previous ActiveRain....now it's all business.... right down to the ads on the side of the screen.... the points don't matter anymore ..... the competition is over.

Hi Roy -- I'm not sure there is any changes necessary in the points system but I do agree with Barbara Todaro's response - the forum seems to have changed for me.  It seems slow, less engaged and often frustrating.  

That said, it remains an excellent method of getting additional exposure and the relationships that have been formed here have been a particularly nice surprise for me.  

Roy Kelley I think the point system is working now. Established bloggers aren't much interested in the points, but it is a good incentive to get newbie's into the community. Real estate agents are competitive and the point system feeds it.

I think they have found a good balance now. The ridiculous changes they made have been curbed. Yes points dont affect business but they do out you on the top of the page if you have alot, and then means more views and indeed, means more business. 

Points mean nothing they are merely a little game we play to keep us interested.  Having said that I would like posts to have the "correct number of words - 300 +" to be able to get a point.  A paragraph is not a blog at least not for SEO purposes and I thought thats why we blog.

Got back to the way it was about 5 years ago.   We have gotten to watered down

I am not interested in the points system Roy. If I was, I wouldn't be here commenting right now for these ridiculous 10 points...

IF points are a part of the system...they need to be awarded promptly....or not at all....
