You site good examples and I've never been a contender in a highly ranked competition but it's that special combination of spelling and odd word usage(or is it mis-usage?) that has made me scratch my head far more often than necessary.

Marte Cliff I believe when people are in a hurry, they have a tendency to slip on the grammar. I give foreign nationals a break when it comes to grammar. What really gets to me is the grammar and spelling used in text messages. What will it look like in 20 years?

I am with you on their and there. Another is lightening and lightning.

I like your selection, and the biggest offender are al those inanimate objects that boast about themselves.  The kitchen boast granite counters, etc...A
