I have never found that networking works for anything other than a social, meeting new friends.

Jennifer Provencio I belonged to a commercial networking group. A lot of good information, speakers and networking.

Does breakfast count?  East Dallas mls group meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.  I attend those, in fact there is one today.

I am working on doing some networking on a local basis with a mortgage broker.

Good morning Jennifer. Have been part of a BNI group for 17 years, no one gives out more referrals than I do and consider the group my second best client.

I have attended some and the leads never panned out. But that wouldn't stop me from going again and I plan to in the fall.

No. I used to try being part of groups, but found that I was spending way too much energy trying to make it work. And I can't remember getting results, although any time you are out there it must make a dent somehow.

The Networking Group that I belong to meets for lunch weekly and yes it does work.  You have to give more than you expect to receive.  Only when you develope relationships with the other members do you receive.

I think luncheon networking depends on the participants.  Some are only out for business.  Others are out to help you get business and in return they get some in return.
