I have never done this, as if I have a weird feeling around this person, I just do not show.

Actually I rarely do as most of my clients are referrals or past clients. I wouldn't want to insult the referrals but I do want to be safe. It is a fine balance.

Paul,

Good idea.  I worked in Los Angeles, and we did not do that.  We usually met our clients at office buildings, or stores, or in their offices.  The only "iffy" places where we had a listing was in Venice as it was being gentrified.  I always made sure that either Ron with me, or our 3rd degree black belt Taikwondo agent, to show the property.  We worked in the luxury arena, so danger was not on our minds.  A

Haven't done that but without a pre-qualification with a lender of my approval I don't work with them. FYI, I have a buyers agent who takes over the showings.

Good morning Paul. I take photos of their photo ID  as part of the mortgage application process, but not aware that any of my Realtor partners do that.

I work with and by referrals most of the time - and very rarely I have to work with strangers!

Our brokerage firm suggest we do this. However, nowadays, we just meet on site. It's difficult to ask for the ID at this point. Wondering how we could do this prior to entering the house.

Check it, Xerox it and have another person in the office come out to meet them.  Haven't gotten into pictures yet but I'm sure down the road that will come.

The revised ABR class talks a lot about this since safety is a huge concern.  Here in Idaho, I have never checked ID to show property.  If they hop in my vehicle, it is impossible to miss the 30-06 bullet hole through the inside of the passenger seat.  I just tell them the last buyer didn't buy from me. . . Great way to discuss agency, loyalty, etc., LOL

No, I dont.  I  do ask to see if they have been pre-approved with a lender before we start viewing properties.   Here in AZ we need a signed pre-qual when submitting an offer, something they will need plus it is just a good idea to have that conversation before they start looking.
