The question suggests such lapses did not occur before TECHNOLOGY. History would argue differently.

Life happens. Stuff happens. Whine a little, wine a lot, then find out where the wheels came off the wagon. Fix it if it is fixable, but don't burden you and your organization with so much redundancy it  becomes impossible to maintain.

Because stuff happens, each of our cities have a fire department. Yes, it is better to prevent fires, but they still occur. So, having a GREAT fire department is important. In this case, intervention after the event is essential.  

A great opportunity for those selling training and coaching services.

Have a glass of wine, whine a little to my husband and then try to figure out how to fix the tickler system so it never happens again, and call the client to apologize and ask for a second chance.
