We have summer BBQ's at our home. Inviting our clients to our home to eat and mingle. We break it down into groups of 30 -50 matching age groups and personalities.

We did....and won't do it again....catered....door prizes...everone got a gift of some kind...better one on one connections...if the "appreciation" was supposed to be referrals...we get those anyway without all the fuss...and would rather do a one o one.

Hi Jeff, I do not do it. I work very hard to make my clients deal come together. The people are very busy and do not have time to come to a party or get together for Client appreciation. I hope you have had good luck with this event and would like to hear about the out come.

Yes, I have several a year, one for the adults, (wine and cheese) one for the kids (Gingerbread House Decorating) and this year we are going to have a Beach Party for the Family at a local beach on a smallish lake. We also take select people to see Broadway Plays at the Morris Civic Auditorium. I send out invitations with rsvp, Mandi follows up on those who haven't responded. Yes, we usually have a good turnout. I invite my referral partners and clients that I think would refer me if they knew how.

Jeff Dowler CRS - oh yes, in past and invited my past clients. Most of them showed up. Planning one this year on a bigger scale.

Haven't done client parties, but did have success a few years ago (before the market crash) with neighborhood BBQs in the city park. Now that the market's back I may need to reignite that idea for the fall.

I am starting to reach out to my client base to invite them to join me on smaller scale events (wine tasting, community events, concerts, etc.). Sometimes I pay for them, other times it is just an announcement that I will be going to an event if they care to join.

Hi Jeff - I never have but will certainly look at the responses you receive for thoughts and idea of others who have tried them. I have heard of some successful events -- renting a movie theatre, food trucks, sponsoring an event.

Good morning Jeff. Yes, early on in my mortgage career, but the size of them got out of hand and then I expanded into other states.

Jeff - My previous broker would hold a "Party in the Park" each year. She would invite all her past clients and ask her agents to invite all their past clients as well. There would be vendors; lenders, title companies, etc. that would purchase a table and provide information. She would also allow other businesses, like jewelry makers, landscapers, etc. She would have games and balloons for the kids, as well as a horseshoe, and other adult competitions. There would be a band there, as well as door prizes. She also had a t-shirt gun that the kids really enjoyed. My broker would provide the hot dogs, chips, and some drinks; soda and water, and all the agents would bring something as well. To communicate this, she would make a flyer that she emailed to everyone. Nowadays, you could do an e-vite. It was always very well attended.
