Demarco and Marisa - I have no problem using Docusign for electronic signatures. However, I will do whatever my clients prefer. In some instances where people are not familiar with the forms/documents, I will go over the entire contract in person, ask them questions, then complete the offer and have them sign electronically. Like I said, whatever the client wants, but I have no problem using electronic signatures.

I think it really depends on your clients. If your Buyers are experienced and/or tech-friendly, then they will probably love doing everything digitally.
However, if your clients are first-timers, then sitting down with them to go through the forms in-person might make the most sense.
I find what works best is sitting down with new clients to go through the whole process of the transaction, including examples of some of the disclosures.
On the whole, digital signing is a marvelous innovation that has really helped people navigate the very dense process of buying/selling their home.

Over 90% of my clients are out of the state so it is essential.

Prefer some documents signed in person. Anyone can do a docusign and create a signature that's not unique or original. Don't know why use those for contrcts. Not sold on it

I love the technology. The clients then have the time to read the docs and sign them.

I haven't found too many people around here that want to use electronic signatures. In many situations, they still are not accepted.

I use digital signature for years and it is my preferred way of signing. I also keep all documents and all I need online, so I can access it from anywhere( my iphone or ipad on the go, thanks hot spots). I store files there as well.
I wish I could be 100% paperless( but not all clients like it, some want a hard copy for records).

I like the idea of electronic signatures and their convenience. But we defer to our clients when it comes to deciding between in-person signatures and electronic signatures.

Electronic Signatures are approved by law and my clients love doing it. I have no problem with it and don't think it changes the value or the authenticity of it.

After a discussion ( in person or over the phone or Skype), I have no problem with using Docusign for any document.

Demarco & Marisa Fletcher - now if we can have this signed using DocuSign, why should it be done in person? Of course, sometimes it helps to get it done in person - however, I'd rather pick up the phone and go over the form.
(I work almost 60 miles in each direction from my office - so I want to make it more efficient.)

Wow, thanks everyone for the great input. This was my very first crack at posting a question in AR and I must say, I am enjoying the experience. Personally, I've always felt that one should get a "wet" signature when at all possible on important documents such as disclosures, but in recent transactions I have found myself and my team using Docusign more and more. Although it is more efficient, we may be losing another opportunity to make that client a "Client for Life" by being there in person to explain the disclosures. Still a hard sell for me, lol. Just my thoughts.... Thanks AR for yet another wonderful experience! ~Marisa

I think Docusign is awesome. Evelyn is doing one now with someone in Florida. That would be too far to drive from northern Indiana, for a signature.

It depends on the client. I have had many who were in other states so electronic signatures are a definite must. Many local clients prefer I explain in person and they sign the document. So it is not my preference but theirs. I am happy either way if they are close by.

I don't really have a problem with this. I haven't seen a problem with this, either.

I'm old fashioned in nature. I would prefer to do disclosures (both seller and buyer) in person. But clients have their own preferences, schedules and preferences...so we decidwe how best to do them together.
