Annette Lawrence I wouldn't be so cavalier as to assume we live in a cornfield. Truth be known we live in a lovely middle to upscale to high end semi rural to rural coastal community in one of the most beautiful places in North San Diego County.

And that's just the point. Our neighborhood is less than 60 miles from one of the most volatile borders in the entire World and it's a known fact that criminals, drug cartels, human traffickers, gun smugglers and yes even terrorists have been inundating our open border everyday of every week of month of every year for YEARS! 

So am I a bit concerned if not passionate about that? Hell yes! Further I don't buy into the notion that they have already won by any means. If so I'd already have my head buried in the sand. On the contrary. That's exactly why I'm reaching out to what I consider to be a very insightful, thoughtful and rationale community.

To suggest that "SUCH THINKING" shows that we question and/or suspect our neighbor is ludicrous at best.

To assume that "SUCH THINKING" shows very little thought has been invested in understanding what is really happening is very presumptuous.

Our particular Neighborhood Watch organization is very tuned in and keeps very close contact with one another and meet regularly to discuss every emergency response scenario we feel concerned about.

Frankly I'm very glad that we have the type of media i.e. computer, cell and TV technology and not a day goes by that we don't connect to any/all of them many times over throughout the day. I like being and staying informed and don't have any intention of turning off my TV anytime soon.

As for living today as it is my last. I do that every time I paddle out for a surf with my friends, the seals and dolphins and the beautiful surf that allows me the opportunity to play upon its back.

Ron & Alexandra Seigel It really depends on who you're talking to. For every one person that thinks they're running out of steam there's one that will tell you that they're just gearing up and that home grown terrorism is on the rise.

Could be that it's just a lot more prolific and talked about this close to the border. But there's not a day that goes by in the San Diego area that they're not finding tunnels, sex slave, drug and arms stashes and criminal elements penetrating our borders.
