Brenda, our real estate activity was negatively impacted last winter with our near record amounts of large snowfalls.  The market did explode last Spring with all that pent up demand when the weather broke!

YES, January and February most business came to a standstill with 7 feet of snow. When the snow started melting the spring market exploded.

If it is extreme then of course it does as it is dangerous and buyers do not want to track up the houses. If it is just a little rainy, they want to forge right ahead. I keep several umbrellas in my car and paper towels for these situations.

Brenda, usually the weather here isn't a big deal.  But this winter, it did make a huge difference.  It was icy and snowy nad very cold.

Locally yes, but doing mortgages in 8 states, the total volume is actually higher in the first quarter this year compared to last year.

Make it a great weekend!

Yes, when it get's real rainy, people tend to shy away from looking at houses.  Which is fine by me, as I don't want to go out showing them in bad weather either.

It's hard to assess the roof when there is a foot of snow on it. Yes, most Mainers hibernate in the winter. We are just starting to see some activity in our ar4ea as the days get longer and warmer (as in the 40's!!!)

Brenda,

As Southern Californians, we are pretty spoiled on the weather front.  When it pours, it would definitely affect showings.  We are wishing for pouring rain for us, and we would be happy with a week's worth, heck, we would take a day1  A

Yes it does. The weather is quite pleasant October - May making for the months a great time for showings. June - September can be quite hot and humid making showings less than comfortable.

Up here in northwestern Wisconsin, we live and die by the weather. Road conditions in winter are the biggest challenge.  But our buyers and sellers are the hardy sort, and we manage to do showings and make sales year round.

Several years ago in the winter it rained a lot in No CA, no one would look for homes with lots of homes for sale.

We get rains 2 or 3 times a year. It is always sunny in SF Bay area. There are droves of people looking for homes but there are few if any sellers.

Hi Brenda -- when it rains in our area -- unfortunately too rare -- people often decide to stay indoors and/or off the roads as they tend to be slick(the roads, not the people).   We are lucky we don't have to contend with the extremes that have existed in many parts of the country this Winter.
