I think that they sort by price and never even look at the photos of those out of their target range.

I'll  go with price.  Housing search parameters are set by PRICE and location.  People look at the price first and think that is cheap or expensive and then look at the picture.  Pictures are incredibly important and what is viewed tends to valid or invalidate the listing price.

I would say they look at the photo an then the price second, although if they are on automatic notification, they already know that the listing price is within their buget.

They may look at the photos first, but typically it's only after they have performed a search by price.

Photos. Without question. People are dreamers, searchers and believers that anything they can imagine is possible, and even if they can't afford that waterfront mansion in Dubai, you know they will drool over it. Price is secondary for gorgeous homes. It's human nature to gravitate toward what one can't afford. Just watch House Hunters, LOL.

Two very different things here..If they like the photos, it won't matter unless they can afford the price.  On the other hand, the price means nothing if the property has no visual appeal.

I also believe people first notice a photo...then they look to see whether they can afford it!

I would think they look at the price to be sure they are looking at homes they can afford, then photos.

I believe people are very visual--so the first thing that gets them is the photo. I've had lots of people who are searching in a specific price point, but suddenly I see they are looking a houses way over their budge--and I know they are just being "seduced" by the picture.

This is an INVALID question.

Did you forget the first rules of real estate..

Location, locatin, location.

If the house is in the LOCATION they want, price and picture will become secondary. Sell the LOCATION and the buyer will take the extra step.

Well, they always start with price. This is the first criteria, unless they don't care about the money and want something extraordinary:)

Douglas Trudeau - well price is important however, yes, they look at the photo (since price is already a part of their daily listing drips.)
