I may be due for one. It's such a pain as so much of my marketing material needs to change.

I prefer more business. The glamour shot poses aren't for me.

Living here in SW Florida the clients want a more casusal and relaxed atmosphere. Casual photo with palm tress in the background.

I have had mine for about 2 years now, i wanted something different than a head shot that was just like any other. I have pondered changing but have not been able to get one that is dofferent and still gets me to stand out.

Profile photographs should be updated every year or two and more frequently if there is a change in the hair style or color.

Professional shots are often the best. A high quality photograph is a must.

I had one agent once tell me that it was far better to have some work done than to take a new picture.  Nice philosophy.

It seems, from my business card observations, the more dogs and cats and horses and hats and boats and motorcycles, and boots you can cram into a photo the greater the chances, some believe, a consumer will connect with you. And some have topped it off with styling shades.

Put on your card whatever you think you can get away with.

Now, it may be wise to have more than one card for very specific situations. For instance networking requires a blank back for notes while cards to be attached to correspondence has a different purpose.

I prefer using a timeless logo that communicates what I offer.

How often to update? Everytime you get better looking!

I have several photos from past 8 years. Fortunately, I haven't changed that much as people always tell me I look just like my picture. So I don't change them very often as I like to keep my marketing consistent. I'm still more formal than casual. As far as I'm concerned, I am dealing with huge financial assets for my clients and I need not to look too casual about it.

It depends on your marketplace.  If you are in downtown San Francisco, I would have a more relaxed (not uptight) professional look, in areas that are second home markets, more casual.  A

My current head shot is about 4-5 years old and the formal kind. I think I'd like something less posed next time around...more natural looking. I've seen some recently of the whole person that I liked (as opposed to just the head shot.)
