Worth Less?

I bet Zillow will try to convince you it is worth MORE!

What does it mean? In a nutshell, what ever the outcome, it is going to cost you MORE!

I don't use either but think it is probably to early for them to start changing things up.  They need to date each other to see how they work things prior to changing things up.

I'm glad I clicked on this.  Great answers, I signed up for the Trulia special they had for AR members several months back.  I didn't feel like I got anything from Trulia. So, I wouldn't pay for it now!

I do pay Trulia for a small percentage of both buyer and seller leads, and thus far (about six months) it has been unfruitful. While leads have been provided, no one has followed though with a purchase yet.

I have chosen not to pay Zillow as well for these leads, heck, I have not even entered all of my data into the Zillow site. I have received many emails asking for me to do so, but I reluctantly entered them into the Trulia site, and, as you say, jeez louise, how much work do they want for me to do for them?

It is all a ploy for us realtors to enter all of the info into their sites so that they will stop being called out because they have houses that are listed for sale that have actually closed several months, or years, ago. Since they only syndicate our listings, they depend on US to let them know when the property has closed.

I know that I should probably update on Zillow as well, but I am dragging my heels...

Melissa Polce I think it will take little while for them to settle down. Yes, it will be a big impact when ListHub stops the feed.

First off...I want to personally THANK Matt Holder for even taking the time to respond...personally I would ratherget past & skip all the "free stuff sell", while 95% of it is free only 1% of the time will you get a full free benefit, the 5% which is extremely useful in this day and age-you will pay for, I a ok with that(at this point)

...I am an actual paying client of Trulia-I like all the DIFFERENT bells & whistles your company had rather than being 1 of like a million on Zillow-I also want to note- a 3rd Party lead generator is as good as or not good as "what you make of it"...I can attest that I have gotten leads from Trulia that I have closed-I only have a 15% marketshare of a Huntersville, NC zip code and it has still paid for it self, my monthly subscription also has paid for my husband Gabriel Libutti, McLean Mortgage who is my "Preferred Lender" on the site...the thing I am most concerned about now is "List Hub"...it is pretty ridiculous that agents will have to suffer at the fact that maybe 1 company wants to stick it to another...

YOu have had "changes" that I question...but that is something different, I also make note that my current RE Company stopped allowing direct feeds to both Zillow & Trulia...it is truly a PIA to put listings in myself and keep them updated, so this change is making me extra nervous...

I still want to know-what happens Feb. 26th? If I have a Trulia paid-for account will you all re-funnel it through the Zillow feed back into Trulia-Bottom line-I was told all of these issues came down to "Accuaracy Issues"...I don't buy that anymore...but I know the RE agents are the ones who are most confused...

Hi everyone.

I can tell you now that no, your Trulia account will not be worthless. I can't tell you it will get more valuable but I can tell you in many ways it will get better.

First of all, it's worth reminding everyone that 95% or more of what you can do as an agent on either Trulia or Zillow is free. Your account is free, claiming your listings is free, receving leads off your claimed listings is free, your profile is free, placement in the directory is free, receving leads off your profile is free...the list goes on.

Over time, managing your account will get a lot easier. Instead of asking your clients to review on both sites, they'll only need to do it once. You'll be able to claim your listings once and have them claimed on both sites. You'll be able to manage your profile from one place and have the changes automatically show on both sites...a lot of dulicate work you were doing for year will disappear. As a former agent myself, this sounds awesome.

For the other 5%, which is the ad stuff, the value of those subscriptions will definitely go up.

The impct of ListHub remains to be seen. Trulia has filed a restraining order barring ListHub from taking down the feed due to a dispute over the syndication contract and whether ListHub has the right to stop the feed at all (http://www.geekwire.com/2015/zillow-group-files-for-restraining-order-against-listhub-to-keep-listings-on-trulia/).
