Sometimes but not always. I follow those that write content I find interesting in a format that's readable - I have a tendency to follow more local people and those working in markets I do business in so I can learn and keep up with local trends. Other than that, if I think someone's a good blogger, writer, or is just an interesting person, I'll follow, whether they follow me or not.

Debbie, I usually wait an see if it's a one time thing or likely to continue. Also, I like to check out their blog to see if we're on the same page with business ethics, experience, etc, although I won't totally discard newbies.

It depends. I am always flattered that someone chooses to follow me. I ilke to check out their profile and posts before deciding whegther to follow or not. And there are some here who I though I was following, and found I wasn't - that's been corrected. I also don't expect someone to follow me even if I follow them. But again the reciprocation is flaterring.

I have started to at least pull up their profile and see more about them and have elected to follow a few back, but not automatically. Some are obviously selling a product or service so unless you love their product/service, don't automatically follow them back. I should do a better job of sending them a message and thanking them for following me and asking what they liked that made them decide to follow me.

A, I have many that followed me then never commented and don't seem to be around any longer.
Juli, Good point. If I don't think I wil benefit then it is not such a good idea.

Most of the time, unless there's something I don't like about their posts or business model.

It's give and take Debbie. Of course sometimes we get too busy but when I see someone commenting on my blogs I try and follow them and return their comments with one of my own. Also it depends on how much time I have that day.

I think a little cleaning up may be in order like Debbie Laity says. If people aren't blogging why follow? But on the other side, they won't show up in you feed either. ???

I will usually return the favor if they are active bloggers. There is no risk or penalty for following members.

It could be as Juli Vosmik says a one time thing and they may never be back. I like followers but like the conversations too.
And Jeff Dowler CRS I too thought I was following and could have swore I had in the past but now with the new system I can readily identify those people and fix it right then.

Debbie -- it depends. If it's someone who looks like they have a ton of points and are regulars on AR, whom I've previously missed, I will follow. If they are brand new, I thank them and keep track of their activity to see if I should follow them in the future.

I usually follow back, why not? If I don't know the person, I do check what this blogger is writing about. If this member has no posts ~ what to subscribe to?

Debbie, most of the time I return the favor and follow them if they post blogs that I think will be of interest.

YIKES Debbie, are you trying to get us in trouble? I do follow everyone that I find that posts about what I find interesting. Sometimes by subject. Of course I am always finding more and more people that are interesting!

Jim, That is excellent. Finding out more about them is a great idea.
Debbie, My list is full too. I keep thinking some will be back.

I usually do return the favor. Although a few months ago, I had to purge a few of those I subscribed to. They haven't been active in over a year.

I am willing to return the favor, but if they don't write anything it does seem pointless. A

Cindy, It is about relationships too and learning about others. So following is a good way to meet people.

I agree John Meussner, What's the point of following someone that rarely posts a blog or doesn't write anything interesting? I know as a lender you can keep up with your market areas and agents you want to connect with.

Yeah, I guess I do. I have followed everyone who has followed me. This site seems to be about collaboration and helping one another.
