Why do some people frequently (seems like always) disable comments on their posts? There's a blogger I frequently read and like the posts, but comments are disabled.

Sometimes it is also because the person will do a re-blog and they want you to go to the original author and leave a comment there. And, I agree with what the others said as well.

These folks are extending to you a courtesy of letting you know they have no intention of following up with any questions or comments posted. That way, no one gets disappointed. To leave the comments open suggest the writer accepts some responsibility to read others comments.

OR.....the writer may be sitting home, in sock clad feet, distressing why no one ever comments on their well structured, content rich postings. Perhaps touching base with them via other outlets (telephone) would serve multiple purposes.
