My brother got one and he LOVES it. I don't know the brand, but he had no issues with it being put on his truck. I live so far south I don't think I'd pay to have it added to my older car, but might consider it a must have option on the next car.

I'm thinking my next car is going to have a remote starter. I don't know about the after market add ons. Maybe your dealership could answer this question for you.

I am glad I bought it last year - now I start the car 5-10 minutes before leaving home for appointments!

These are not always a good idea. If something goes wrong with unattended car for example. What if you were low on antifreeze and water pump froze/ Your belts would burn up before you knew it. Like Roy mentioned, this is illegal in many places. Also, it really doesn't take that long for modern cars to warm up these days. And of course, this is an invitation to car thieves. Many mechanics recommend against using them. Ask you mechanic what the pros and cons are. And check your cars warranty. I've heard adding this kind of equipment can void the warranty.

I have one and love it, it's aftermarket and I haven't had any issues in the almost 6 years of having it. It comes in hands for safety purposes too. I have a AutoPage system on my F-150 and for the winter nothing beats a warm takeoff

Be careful. In our area, you can get a ticket for having the motor running in an unoccupied vehicle.

Larry, I've never even heard of these. Of couse, I live in a climate where a remote starter isn't really necessary. But if I lived in an area like yours, I'd be looking into them for sure.
