Before adding to this space, I took a look around to see what other AR'ers had put in this space. To my surprise, although the suggestion is to "Use this section to write about yourself", I found many people using it as advertising space for their business or even listings.

I may be wrong, but that doesn't seem to tell me much about them as a person, or maybe it does..... :-)

For the last 20 or so years, I have worked for Christian-based non-profit organizations, spent a lot of time volunterring with the local Lions Club (Plano New Millennium Lions Club-for which I am currently serving as President 2010-2011), and working in the Individual Health Insurance Market.

Currently, I am a Regional Manager with State Continuing Education.

I'm married to my beautiful and caring wife, Sherri and have one daughter and 2 grand-children and live in Plano, Texas.

The other day on Facebook, someone asked me, "so warren what's your point of view on life? This is a question for a thinker. What would you say sums you up."

To which I replied:

I guess there are 4 statements that sum it up:

1. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

This is a lot harder to follow than one might think. Most people's reaction to being wronged is to retaliate. It sometimes take a huge effort to "turn the other cheek" and show them love in return.

2. "Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone, and you are the ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power and might, and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength."

When we realize that everything comes from God, and He is ultimately in control of it all, problems don't seem so big.

3. "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."

This quote from Albert Einstein speaks volumes about where our priorities and values should lay. Success often is a by-product of the value we provide.

4. “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways."

This obscure Old Testament verse pretty much sums up how wasteful we are of our resources and how God looks at our use/waste of them, while admonishing us to consider the consequences of our actions. Now, do I live every day like this? No, not always. I'm human, which I know is no excuse, but I try to be guided by those thoughts. I know that if I strive to live the life that would result in following these simple rules, even if I do fall a tad short, I'll be doing the right thing and headed in the right direction.

So, now you know all about Warren.
